The Prince and Princess of Wales have been "going through hell" over the past few months as they've attempted to navigate Kate's cancer diagnosis.

Designer Amaia Arrieta, who has been styling the royal couple's children, Prince George (10), Princess Charlotte (9) and Prince Louis (6), for the past decade, says it’s been a difficult journey for the family since they received the news.

“I’m heartbroken at the moment,” Amaia told The Telegraph. “I think they are going through hell.”

She did not offer any details about what the family has endured and would only say that “it’s really personal”.

“I hope they will be back."

Her comments come a few days after Prince William told a supporter his family was okay.

The supporter asked William how his wife and children were and the Prince replied, “We’re all doing well, thank you.”

Another asked after Kate but William stuck to his answer, repeating, “we’re all doing well.”

The Princess of Wales’ announcement of her cancer diagnosis sent shockwaves around the world.

She is undergoing chemotherapy treatment and has not given any other updates about her health.

“Our thoughts and prayers are with the Princess of Wales and her family as she bravely faces cancer and undergoes preventive chemotherapy,” the designer posted on her Instagram account after the news broke.

Amaia has previously spoken about her role as a stylist for the young princess and her brothers.

“Dressing the royals gives me so much pride, I really do care about how they look."

She works closely with the children’s nanny, Maria Borrallo, to dress the young royals and said she’ll always remember the first time Kate and her mother Carole came into her store.

“It was quite funny, because she said, 'I've just had a baby and I'm a little lost. Would you be able to help me?' Of course, we knew who she was! It surprised us to see how normal and natural she was. We helped her like any new mum, and I think she liked that because she's been coming back ever since,” she told Hola.

She described Kate as "very charming, very normal and very sweet".

“We stand in solidarity with her, offering our support, strength, and unwavering hope for her well-being and recovery,” the designer said.
