It’s been 21 years since the release of I Know What You Did Last Summer, 22 years since Scream and this year marks the 40th anniversary of the cult classic, Halloween.
Right on time for this year's spooky festival, the 2018 Halloween sequel was released in SA cinemas last week, rated 18, for the likelihood that it may very well scare the jack-o’-lantern right out of our little gremlins.
Despite kiddies enthusiastically participating in the tradition of dressing up and going from door to door asking for candy, there aren’t very many movies in the cinemas or Halloween television line-up for children. It’s always been pretty much blood and gore year after year for the month of October.
And if you’ve ever watched the kids show Courage the Cowardly Dog, and you’re just as scared of this guy as I am, chances are, growing up you too wouldn’t have been able to watch many of the PG-rated Halloween movies.
So we’ve compiled a list of kid-friendly movies for you to watch this Halloween with the whole family. With just a few days to go, check out some of these classics and new favourites.
*Note: Some films are still for older kids. Watch the trailers and clips to see which would be best for your little ones to watch.
