We're sure this story of US-based teen is one that the more than 2 million orphans in South Africa can relate to.
He's been living in a shelter since he was 12-years-old, and now at 17, Haven is looking at the military for a future career.
Despite this, the young man is still hoping he won't have to enter adulthood without a family.
While taking a tour of the Oklahoma Army National Guard, Haven spoke with news journalist about his dream family.
"Someone to help you and be there for you... not just going into [life] all blind," he said adding that he didn't really care about specifics.
"As long as it's a family that would show love and be there for me," he said.
