OPINION | 'A world free from violence': Miss World SA's call for all men to join GBV fight

Claude Mmakgaka Mashego, a medical doctor and Miss World South Africa, shares her thoughts on gender-based violence (GBV) with a particular focus on the boychild and men who are, in many ways, perpetrators of this scourge.

For 32 years, the world has marked the 16 days of Activism Against Gender-Based Violence from 25 November to 10 December.

Apart from providing a platform for concerted efforts to prevent and eliminate violence against women and girls, can we ever achieve a world where every woman and girl can live free from fear, intimidation, and violence?
