Charlize Theron had a special night out with her youngest daughter, August, on Monday.
The 48-year-old actor and her 8-year-old daughter made a rare public appearance together when they attended Dior's pre-fall fashion show at the Brooklyn Museum.
Theron stunned in a black outfit with sunglasses to match. She wore a sleek, long-sleeve top with a beige skirt that had a print on it. She also had on Dior jewellery to suit the occasion.
August showed up in a casual get-up, wearing a blue and white letterman jacket and a white dress.
The two had a front-row seat at the fashion show; other celebrities like Rachel Zegler, Anya Taylor-Joy and Michelle Williams also attended.
The Mad Max: Fury Road actor has two children, her other daughter being Jackson, who is 11. She adopted Jackson in 2012 and August in 2015.
Theron previously took Jackson to Dior's Ready To Wear Spring 2024 show in Paris last year in September, where they also had front-row seats.
The actor has expressed her love for her children in interviews.
"I want my kids to know who they are, and I want them to be so fucking proud of who they are," she told ELLE in 2018.
"Building confidence for them right now is an oath I made to myself when I brought them home," she added.
She continued:
"They need to know where they come from and be proud of that. But they're going to have to know that it's a different climate for them than it is for me and how unfair that is. If I can do something about that, of course, I'm going to."
She has also shared her South African heritage with her daughters.
"I have taught them a little Afrikaans, but it's a language filled with very conflicted history," Theron said on The Graham Norton Show.
"I am raising two beautiful, proud, black African girls, and I want them to find themselves and not necessarily push my ancestry on them," she added.
The actor appeared in the 2023 film Fast X, part of the petrol-fuelled franchise Fast & Furious, where she played the character Cipher. She will also appear as a lead actor in the Netflix movie The Old Guard 2; the 2024 release date has yet to be announced.
