CAPE TOWN police are investigating a double-murder case after two men were found dead at a farm in Kraaifontein on Sunday, 28 April.

Residents told Daily Sun they heard gunshots in the early hours of the morning and didn't know what was happening. However, at sunrise, two men were found with gunshot wounds close to a local farm.

Residents had mixed feelings about the deaths as one of the victims was identified as a gang member who allegedly tortured people in the area.

"I was shocked when people said two people have been found with gunshot wounds to their heads near the Nuutgewek farm. I didn't want to go, but when people said one of the dead people was a well-known robber, I decided to go. It was him, but I didn't know the other person," the source said.

"Your work will always follow you. This man caused a lot of pain to many people, and his death shouldn't bother us. Instead, we should rejoice."

Another resident said the suspected robber's death was good news.

"I've heard nothing good about this man. I'm glad he's removed from society. My pain goes to his family as they have to bury him," said another resident.

Western Cape police spokesman Captain Frederick Van Wyk said the Kraaifontein Police Station is investigating a double-murder case.

No arrest has been made in connection with the incident.

"Motive for this attack is now the subject of an investigation by the SAPS. We're appealing to anyone with information to kindly contact Crime Stop on 08600 10111," said Van Wyk.
