We're always learning new things about social media and online platforms. Some are good, but most of them seem pretty bad – especially for teenagers. Naturally, parents and teens will have different views on social media, and when hearing it from their perspective, it may not be all that bad.

In this video above by The Canadian Press, the teens are asked about when they got their first phones, how they use social media, what they watch on YouTube, their favourite memes (very important) and, of course, the inevitable cyberbullying chat.
One of the teens claims that Instagram is her "main source of communication" as she can make use of the direct message function without needing to give people her cellphone number. Naturally, this is a major plus for online safety.
She also feels that getting a lot of comments on her Instagram pictures boosts her self-esteem, but at the same time it puts a lot of pressure on her to look a certain way.
While some teens are Instagram enthusiasts, others aren't too convinced and don't think too much about the amount of likes they get on posts.
The interviewees also share some of their favourite things to watch on YouTube, which include DIY tutorials, gaming, makeup tutorials and funny videos.
When asked about cyberbullying, an interviewee mentions that they have anti-cyberbullying posters around her classrooms and others state that they have police officers who come to their school to discuss the issue.
