WATCH | Tips for teenagers and parents during lockdown

accreditation

Many parents will agree that the adolescent stage tends to be a little tricky with emotions and hormones varying, but certainly now more so while we're all enduring several weeks of the Covid-19 lockdown.

In the video above Dr John Coleman explains that teenagers might be feeling a lot of emotions during lockdown, from missing their friends, their school and their outside life in general.

Dr John also asks parents to be considerate of all the sudden change and the turmoil that causes, and provides tips that he thinks could create a better environment for you and your teen.

Here's a quick look at some of his tips, but watch the video above for more:

  • Create a new routine for your teenager
  • Relax the rules of the house and allow change
  • Let them have an online social life
  • Give them responsibilities around the house
