While our kids are technically still on holiday, many wonder what the consequences will be once the non-holiday part of the lockdown begins.

Responding to the poll question 'Are our children going to suffer academically from prolonged schools closures?', 42% of parents told us that 'kids need consistent schooling to succeed', while 58% felt that 'our kids are resilient and will bounce back once school resumes'.

Clearly, parents remain positive about their children's education despite the soon-to-be-implemented national lockdown.

Free educational content

Rising to the occasion is Amazon, which via its Audible subscription-based feature, has made free audiobook resources available to keep young minds occupied during the lockdown.

"For as long as schools are closed, we're open... kids everywhere can instantly stream an incredible collection of stories, including titles across six different languages, that will help them continue dreaming, learning, and just being kids."

The audio resources are accessible to anyone with an internet connection and "desktop, laptop, phone or tablet."

The books included in the collection are suitable for a range of ages, and all content has been categorised by age and language from Littlest Listeners to Elementary to Tween and Teen.

The resource is incredible and may prove useful for all ages, and might even come to a parent's rescue during the 21-day period of self-distancing.
