“I know you, you're a special one.
Some see crazy where I see love.
You fall so low but shoot so high.
Big dreamers shoot for open sky.”
Sia’s just released an incredible single for the upcoming My Little Pony: The Movie soundtrack, and we just can’t seem to get the catchy song and inspiring lyrics out of our head.
I mean, have you heard the new single, called Rainbow, yet? No? Have a listen, or better yet, get your little one and watch the music video featuring 15-year-old Maddie Ziegler, of course, as she appears in all Sia's music videos, and clips from the film itself:
The song is upbeat and full of life, just like Sia’s character in the film, Songbird Serenade, perfectly animated with her signature bangs and all. Take a look:
It will be up to Princess Twilight Sparkle, Pinky Pie, Fluttershy and the rest of the gang to save the day, but with Sia on the soundtrack, we're confident that with friendship and little bit of magic, they’ll be just fine.
“So much life in those open eyes.
So much depth, you look for the light.
But when your wounds open, you will cry.
You'll cry out now and you'll question why.
I can see a rainbow
in your tears as they fall on down.
I can see your soul grow
through the pain as they hit the ground.
I can see a rainbow
in your tears as the sun comes out,
as the sun comes out..."
With these lyrics, we can’t wait to watch My Little Pony: The Movie, and we’re sure it will be a great film for the kids with an empowering message.
If this video and these lyrics are anything to go by, the kids are going to love the film, and we think maybe, just maybe, you will too.
And if we’re being honest, this isn’t the worst song to have stuck in your head and on repeat in the car driving to school.
We like the poetic and inspirational message, and absolutely love the idea of turning even our sorrows into, and seeing in our tears, beautiful little rainbows.
If you haven’t seen the trailer for the My Little Pony: The Movie, check out the video below, as magic, music and friendship will be coming to South African screens on 6 October.
