Childbirth can be a beautiful but often painful experience enough on its own but a woman has given to a 5.75kg baby – without any pain medication, according to 9news.

Nikki Bell (28) welcomed son Parker Bell to the world on 1 November, in what is the second biggest recorded birth at the Blacktown Hospital, in Australia’s Sydney’s west.

The biggest birth recorded in Australia was in July 2011, when Tiarla Elekana was born at a record-breaking 6.85kg.

The average weight at the hospital for a new-born is 3.5kg.

Speaking to nine.com.au about Parker’s birth, Women’s & Children’s divisional nurse manager Helen Konowec said “The range of a normal pregnancy can be between 2.5 and 4.5 kilograms.”

She also added that they kept a close eye on Nikki’s pregnancy,

“The mother had scans during pregnancy for foetal growth,” she said.
