"The problem is the sickos on the web": Our readers add their two cents to the P!nk controversy

The ugly 21st-century truth.
The ugly 21st-century truth.

The world has changed so much that what was once appropriate for the family album is now ammunition for perverted minds.

That's what US singer Pink learned recently after uploading a family picture in which her toddler son, Jameson, appeared naked from the waist down (the image has since been censored).

The mom of two received quite a backlash from her Instagram followers for what she says was an honest mistake, partly because she hadn't looked "at the picture that way."

See what SA law has to say about South African parents publishing similar photos here: P!nk just reminded us of the number one social media rule all SA parents must know

Since publishing the story, our readers have been vocal about their take on the situation, and we've compiled a few of the responses below.

The ugly 21st-century truth

"If you are in [the] public eye as she is, you really should know better. Not that I blame her for [her] child being naked, but that should be private. Unfortunately, we live in [the] 21st-century, and values are not the same as before." (Posted by Caca Stamenic)

A bad move

"That's bad parenting, how [could] you share your kids' photos without looking if it's appropriate?" (Posted by Chifike Edward)
