Don't miss the Black Friday sales this year!

Who doesn't love a bargain?

This is perhaps why the American phenomenon of Black Friday has taken off in South Africa. In recent years more and more local retails have joined the Black Friday express.

While traditionally the day of sales lasts from midnight to midnight, here shoppers are given longer to browse and stock up on essentials as the bigger brands start sales sometimes days ahead of time.

Regardless, there's always a rush and social media is filled with pics and vids of long queues and people getting rowdy as they fight for specials.

Black Friday falls on 27 November and this year many more people may prefer to shop online - with the threat of Covid-19 infection, and physical distancing still in force - it's inevitable that websites will crash again as thousands click through looking for a bargain or two.

No interest

Since so much has changed in 2020 with the lockdown regulations, it will be interesting to see how Black Friday sales perform this year.

We asked readers how they plan for the Black Friday sales, and only 8% of respondents said they save, research and plan ahead, preparing to make the most of it.

15% told us they wait and see what looks like a good deal on the day, but the majority, at 77%, revealed that they have "no interest" in spending more money this year.

Stock up

Nonetheless, if you do have a few rands saved, this is the best time to stock up on essential baby goods like nappies, bum cream, wet wipes and more.

To make your shopping day easier we've gathered together some of the best Black Friday specials we've seen so far - we'll be updating regularly so check back often! See below:
