Some women cover up their scars after giving birth but this mom decided to embrace her marks by posting it on social media.

Hayley Garnett from Missouri in the US recently gave birth to her twin daughters, Ruby and Ramona, and also has an adorable three-year-old son, Archer.

The photographer, who often opens up about her pregnancy battles, shared a picture on Instagram of her twins in an attempt to address Archer’s questions about the stretch marks on her tummy.

“This morning Archer asked me what’s wrong with my belly,” Hayley says in her post. “I told him that all my babies leave marks on my belly so I never forget for a second that I grew them in my body all on my own and that they exist Earth-side with me now!”

The 29-year-old went on to call her marks a “forever reminder” and says it’s a testament to the miracles her body has produced.

According to the Daily Mail, the mom shared the picture to help women be more comfortable with the scars and body changes pregnancy brings along.

“I’m not the first nor will I be the last to share a postpartum photo of my body – but I think the more women who do so can help make other women feel more comfortable in their bodies too,” she says.

Although the mother is overjoyed with the arrival of her twins, she was concerned about how her husband, Cody (30), would be able to afford their two bundles of joy.

“I’m actually still not sure how we’ll do that,” Hayley added. “Most of all we felt really excited and lucky to be given such an amazing gift of two lives at once!”

Her post has since gone viral, with more than 11 000 followers liking her inspiring post about body positivity after giving birth.

“Thank you for showing a real damn woman’s body,” one follower said.

“This is so beautiful and so important to share!” another said.

Although not all the comments have been positive, Hayley is overwhelmed by the amazing responses she’s received from other moms.

“The response to my photo has been 95% amazing! So uplifting and full of women supporting other women!” she says.
