"The Girl Without A Sound" now in Xhosa and Zulu

Since its online release last year, the empowering children’s book The Girl Without A Sound has now been translated into two additional South African languages, isiXhosa and isuZulu. It was previously only available in Setswana and English. 

The second edition of the book in the additional languages is a collaborative effort by author/actress Buhle Ngaba and the Nali’Bali reading campaign, a national movement aimed at nurturing a love for reading in children across the country.

Ngaba was inspired to write the book as an alternative to the traditional fairy tale, and to encourage young girls to give expression to their uniqueness. 

All versions of the book are now available for free download.

And to ensure that the book reaches as many audiences as possible, Ngaba along with the Nali’Bali campaign will also embark on a national tour, engaging with audiences through reading clubs, university lectures and workshops.
