Your wedding is one of the most special and momentous events in your life because it’s the start of a brand new adventure and life for you – with someone you love. But when you’ve got a baby girl who you love just as much, if not more, you can’t imagine them not being a part of the start of the rest of your life. That’s why mom to 2-year-old Ellora, Dalton Mort, walked down the aisle with her toddler on her back.
Laura Schaefer of Fire and Gold Photography captured the special day and we are in complete awe.

“We really wanted her to be involved in the ceremony, because we felt marriage is a commitment to our family as much as our own relationship,” Dalton told POPSUGAR.
But there was also a simpler reason, and it’s probably one you’d make too if your wedding interrupted one very important activity in your toddler’s routine. “We knew the mass was going to be at least 45 minutes and was smack in the middle of naptime. She was going to need Momma, and I didn’t want to be worried about her. She actually fell asleep about 20 minutes in.”
Dalton says she eventually unwrapped her baby girl and nursed her, and when she and her husband said their vows, she held Ellora in her arms.

It was probably the best decision she could’ve made having her little one close to her instead of having someone look after her. “I wouldn’t have had it any other way.”
And besides, she jokes, “There is no better behaved toddler than a sleeping toddler.”
