We’ve all done it – stared adoringly at our doe-eyed little one with the biggest, most adorable smile on their face, and adjusted our voice before passive aggressively whispering:

“Say mama. Saaaaay, mama!”

They usually mumble something indistinct, roll over and laugh at you. But you keep trying, unfazed, even though you know they’ll probably only start with “ba”, “da” and “ka” around 6 months. At 9 months though, Kylie’s little one, Stormi, has already started hitting all those onomatopoeic sounds.

So mama thought she’d try and teach Stormi a few new, higher grade words.

“Kyliiie… Cosmetics,” she said, and waited patiently for a response, while Stormi held mama’s palette in her hands. And it made the sweetest video.

trying to teach her some new words ????????????

Your baby will start communicating with you from early on. At around 3 months, she’ll respond with her own made up words, and at 6 months the “ba”, “da” and “ka” sounds will come. At Stormi’s age, babies tend to start understanding and repeating basic words, like every cheeky toddler’s favourite: “No.” And from then on, they’ll slowly but surely start stringing words together to start forming sentences.

So Kylie isn’t too far off in trying to get her little one to utter those words. And Stormi certainly did try. But the indistinct murmurs took an unexpected turn as Stormi adorably mumbled her way into a very clear, “Dada!” And we totally get why.

Kylie recently Instagrammed a photo of Stormi and daddy, Travis Scott, and we imagine he has much to do with that adorable smile.
