A furious mom has taken to social media after her baby's daycare teacher used a permanent marker to write a message across his stomach, requesting she refill his nappy supply.

"I missed the report, and this woman's next course of action was to write across my son's entire torso," wrote single mom Heather from Florida in the US in a Facebook post that has since gone viral.

The mom of two had taken to the platform to ask for help and opinions since the teacher had resorted to the same tactic once before.

"Am I right to be furious about this? Or am I overreacting? I really need your opinions guys, because I'm about to barge in this daycare tomorrow morning and have some words," said the angered mom.

Explaining that her son's daycare uses daily reports to communicate with parents, Heather said she had missed only one report when the teacher again resorted to permanent marker messaging, "OVER a phone call, verbal warning, text, or email."

'It's not coming off'

"I'm human, and I missed a report. ONE... I wasn't being hounded over and over to bring diapers, and I just kept ignoring them... A simple, 'Hey Heather, your son needs diapers maybe you missed the report' would have done the trick from any of the many teachers I see daily," she said.

Heather also added images to the post (scroll down to view), one before attempting to remove the message, and another after several unsuccessful attempts.

"You can't even see all of it in the pic. It says, 'Mom I'm out of diapers pls read my report'. I've scrubbed it with several baby wipes, and it's not coming off. I had plans to take them to the beach to play, and now I can't because my son has writing all over him."

Shameless mommy shamers

Heather had no idea that her post would be shared more than 30 000 times, gaining both positive and negative attention from the internet.

And of course mommy shamers just couldn't resist.

"I've seen several people now saying comments such as 'she has plenty of money to spend on makeup she could have gotten diapers', Heather wrote in a follow-up post, adding that "People are also saying 'serves her right, I wonder how many times she was told to bring diapers before they resorted to this'.

Wow, just wow.

Clearly, mommy-shamers have selective reading skills since she had explained that the "issue was never not having money for diapers," but rather that she had only been "told once through a daily report that I missed because I'm a human and sometimes I miss things."
