Kaizer Chiefs, amidst ongoing negotiations, have taken steps to secure the future of a midfielder by offering him a two-year contract extension, the Siya crew understands.

As previously reported by Soccer Laduma, Siyethemba Sithebe's contract discussions have been closely watched.

However, recent developments suggest that the Naturena-based club is keen on retaining the talented midfielder.

Siya sources from within the club have indicated that Chiefs are impressed with Sithebe's performances since his return from injury. Despite his limited game time due to the injury setback, Sithebe has showcased his potential and has caught the eye of the coaching staff.

"It will happen. It has started now and the club has offered him a two-year contract to extend at the end of the season. I think the player has done enough in the few games he has played to prove himself that he deserves a renewal. So, as it stands now, everything could be finalised before the end of the season," the Siya source told Soccer Laduma.

While Sithebe's immediate future at Chiefs looks promising, the club is also evaluating other players whose contracts are set to expire in June. This suggests that Chiefs are actively planning for the upcoming season and are looking to secure key players for the long term.

"Sithebe would be the first one but the club is still looking at other players. Some contracts are coming to an end in June so there will be a lot of contract talks going on. Some will go and some will stay. But for now, they have offered Sithebe a two-year contract which will run until June 2026," the source concluded.

As Chiefs continue to shape their squad for the future, the potential extension of Sithebe's contract reflects the club's commitment to reward progress.

Soccer Laduma contacted Chiefs for a comment but the club had not responded by the time this story was published.
