Dads are notoriously known for being possessive and strict when it comes to their daughters. They employ scare tactic to frighten away any possible suitors and even go as far as threatening any man who could possible hurt their little princess.
So, it didn’t come as a surprise when the father of five daughters Jeff Welch wrote a set of rules on how to date his daughters.
His post quickly went viral and raked up more than 22 000 shares. But not for the reasons you think.
Jeff (40) from Tennessee in the United States shared the rules on Facebook with the caption, “I ain't raising no princesses.”
What were his rules? Simple really…
“You'll have to ask them what their rules are. I'm not raising my little girls to be the kind of women who need their daddy to act like a creepy possessive bad*** in order for them to be treated with respect,” he wrote.
And for the men that would dare treat his daughter other than what she wanted, he had this to add:
“You will respect them, and if you don't, I promise they won't need my help putting you back in your place. Good luck pumpkin,” he wrote in the post.
The message was so strong and clear that many people applauded him for adding a refreshing spin on what daddy’s little princess is really like.
When Jeff, who is a poet and self-proclaimed feminist, realised his post had gone viral, he had this to add in his following post: “I want my daughters to feel empowered to be who they are. Whatever that looks like, I will support them completely, and that's what being a feminist means to me.”
